Each year 'GREEN Zone' brings together exhibitors, individuals and corporate entities keen to display, exhibit and showcase their green initiatives, products, services, technological innovations, skills development and employment opportunities leading to sustainable living. The Green Zone is given prominence with the annual EDEX Education & Careers EXPO with a separate enclosure

EDEX Green Zone - 2009

The inaugural 'Green Zone' 2009, was a resounding success where many forerunners in the space of environmental initiatives took part. Private Sector participants such as Brandix, Schenkar Logistics, Neptune Paper as well as the Central Environment Authority, Environmental Foundation, University of Moratuwa, were some of the main contributors.

One of the key highlights at the Green Zone 2009 was the display of three environmentally friendly electric cars and a scooter promoted by Eco Star (Pvt) Ltd which resulted in the sale of all vehicles as a direct consequence of their participation. This supports the emerging trend of consumer behaviours appreciating the need for sustainable living.

Plans are afoot for a larger scale 'GREEN ZONE' at EDEX 2010 Expo, which is targeting to attract over 30 exhibitors of green initiatives and the participation of over 100,000 young minds who will be exposed to the latest green initiatives in Sri Lanka and the world over.

Exhibition will be held at BMICH, Colombo from 15th - 17th January 2010
